Swiss-based MET em­ploy­ees and MET alumni gathered at Sport Zuger­land, Cham, to en­gage in the com­pany’s sports day “To­gether in Mo­tion” on 7 May. The event is part of the MET Alumni Club, launched in 2023 to main­tain strong re­la­tion­ships with former col­leagues, re­con­nect through vari­ous events, and po­ten­tially wel­come alumni back to the com­pany, while of­fer­ing a num­ber of be­ne­fits.

The European gas mar­ket is be­com­ing in­creas­ingly di­ver­si­fied and glob­ally con­nec­ted. Mov­ing for­ward, Europe will need to rely on a mix of ad­di­tional pipeline gas from Nor­way, North Africa, and Azerbaijan, along­side in­creased LNG im­ports – pre­dom­in­antly from the Un­ited States. Here are the key facts.

“Europe needs to re­think its en­ergy mix. LNG now serves as a stra­tegic back­stop, com­ple­ment­ing – but not re­pla­cing – the cur­rent sys­tem.” This was one of the key mes­sages from MET Group’s Head of LNG, Luis Sánchez, in his key­note speech at the Bud­apest LNG Sum­mit, where he also ad­dressed the im­pact of geo­pol­it­ical crises on the en­ergy mar­ket.
