In­creased hedging activ­ity promp­ted by the volat­il­ity caused by the near-clos­ure of the Strait of Hor­muz pushed European nat­ural gas trad­ing volumes to re­cord highs dur­ing the first half of the year, trad­ing data com­piled by En­ergy In­tel­li­gence shows.

In­teg­rated en­ergy com­pany MET Group is as­sess­ing “a good num­ber” of ac­quis­i­tions and ex­pects to an­nounce new deals within the next six to 12 months, Group Chief Strategy and M&A Of­ficer Al­ex­an­der Alt­ing von Geu­sau said.

MET Group cel­eb­rated the in­aug­ur­a­tion of the fifth floor at its headquar­ters in Baar, mark­ing an­other mile­stone in the com­pany's ex­pan­sion. The event brought to­gether col­leagues from across the busi­ness to cel­eb­rate the open­ing of the new work­space and launch “MET Con­nect” – an ini­ti­at­ive de­signed to strengthen con­nec­tions across the or­gan­isa­tion and en­cour­age know­ledge-shar­ing among em­ploy­ees.
