“Relationships with colleagues” received the second highest rating in the recent Employee Engagement Survey, which measures employee engagement and well-being at MET Group. These insights are key inputs for HR, helping to continuously shape initiatives that reinforce collaboration, inclusion, and a strong sense of belonging.
The feeling of belonging has always been a crucial part of the MET’s success story. Supporting this, our HR team, together with managers, places strong emphasis on meaningful in-person experiences. The highlight of the year is the annual Group Teambuilding where employees from all the subsidiaries – representing close to 60 nations – come together. Colleagues connect across teams and locations, hear directly from the Group CEO about MET’s strategy, and unwind, enjoying time together beyond the day‑to‑day. On this occasion, top-performing colleagues are recognized through the MET Excellence Awards.
MET Group’s highly collaborative culture is further nurtured through year-round teambuilding activities, where smaller teams organize strategic workshops, participate in sport competitions, cultural experiences, or charity events. These programs are designed to reinforce trust, collaboration, and team spirit.
MET also places a strong emphasis on celebrating special moments with employees’ families. Events such as the ‘Santa Claus Parties’ warmly welcome partners, children, and loved ones, creating memorable shared experiences beyond the workplace. MET’s birthday in April is another highlight, bringing colleagues together across the Group through a dedicated online celebration that begins with a speech from the Group CEO.
“At MET Group, we believe that people always make the difference. We consider our highly talented and diverse community of colleagues as the ‘MET family’, and we aim to create an environment where they feel at home, bringing out the best version of themselves,” says Group HR Director, Tünde Tóth.
MET Group focuses on community beyond active employment and maintains strong relationships with former colleagues through the MET Alumni Club. The Club seeks to create a long-lasting professional network for former employees, reconnecting through a range of events and activities and potentially welcoming them back to the company. Since the Alumni Club was launched in 2023, twice as many ‘boomerang alumni’ have rejoined the company compared to the 15 years prior to its establishment.
In-person engagement has proven particularly impactful. The latest annual MET Alumni get-together took place at the beginning of May in Switzerland, with the next gatherings scheduled for September in Romania and October in Hungary. Looking ahead, the MET Alumni Club aims to expand its presence with events across even more MET countries.
