MET’s Sales & Trading Segment (STS) operates across 24 markets, selling gas and power across Europe and trading LNG, globally. The CFO organisation underpins this activity by ensuring strong financial discipline, effective risk management, and sustainable value creation. The CFO Award is open to all STS central finance employees and recognizes individuals who bring MET Group’s core values to life through their work.
Empowering people to take ownership and turn ideas into measurable results is a defining part of MET Group’s culture. The CFO Awards, presented quarterly, celebrate achievements that deliver visible and meaningful impact across the organisation. In selecting the recipients, management focused on initiatives that made a real difference – saving costs, generating new revenue, executing flawlessly, and driving lasting improvements in how work gets done.
“The purpose of the award is to recognize not only major accomplishments, but also the smaller, day-to-day achievements that contribute to our collective success,” explains STS CFO Ankur Khera. “It recognizes and reinforces key behaviours – such as completing what we start, understanding our customers’ needs, and demonstrating consistency – and serves as a meaningful way to acknowledge colleagues whose contributions have made a positive impact.”
This quarter’s award winners showcased the breadth of talent across MET Group, delivering impact through innovation, execution, and accountability.
Ruslan Zinetullin, Tommaso Pellegrino, Jonathan Mendieta, and Sergey Voronin received the Business Impact award for developing advanced quantitative tools and analytics that enable faster, smarter, and more commercially driven decision-making across MET’s sales & trading activities – showcasing how data-led innovation delivers real business impact.

Carlo Sancassani received the Functional Innovation award for leading the development of the Sales Forecast Automation tool. Based in MET Group’s Milan office, Carlo transformed a complex weekly process into a smooth, reliable operation – demonstrating how a hands-on, professional approach to innovation can significantly improve accuracy and efficiency.
Francesco Trulli was awarded the Operational Excellence award for his role in delivering precise and reliable weekly credit reporting for MET’s STS board. Also based in Milan, Francesco ensures accurate exposure analysis and consolidation, exemplifying personal accountability and commitment to excellence.
MET Group prides itself on recognizing and celebrating outstanding performance. Alongside the award winners, those who took the time to nominate their colleagues were also acknowledged, reflecting a culture that values shared success.
