Swiss-based en­ergy com­pany MET Group has ap­poin­ted Gergely Sz­abó as CEO of MET Sales and Trad­ing Seg­ment and Tom Van de Cruys as CEO of MET Re­tail Seg­ment.

The appointment of Gergely Szabó further strengthens MET Group’s integrated business model, and enables the company to capture new opportunities across gas, LNG, power, and renewable energy markets. Having held several senior leadership positions within MET Group, most recently serving as the CEO of MET Central Europe, Gergely brings nearly two decades of experience in energy markets, commercial operations, and regional growth across Europe.

MET Group has established a new Retail Segment to expand its customer base and further enhance the customer experience. Retail Segment CEO Tom Van de Cruys brings more than 25 years of leadership experience in European energy markets. He held senior management roles across Germany, the UK, Belgium, France, the Netherlands, Spain, and Switzerland. Tom will focus on increasing MET’s retail footprint and brand presence across Europe while delivering innovative energy solutions and an outstanding customer value proposition.

Huibert Vigeveno, Group CEO, commented: “I am very pleased with the appointments of Gergely and Tom. A strong and agile Sales and Trading business and the creation of our Retail Segment are important steps towards achieving our ambition of becoming a European Energy Champion.”
