June 25, 2025
Flying in a huge hot air balloon over Budapest, listening to classical music from the Virtuosos – the latest annual MET Alumni Club Get-Together was definitely an uplifting experience.

All participants – former and current colleagues – had a bird’s-eye view of the city, as the MET Alumni Club’s in-person event started with the BalloonFly Budapest adventure. From a height of 150 meters, it was easy to spot the location of the MET office, for instance.

When you have a bird’s-eye view of your own career, it is easier to make big decisions. As MET Group Chairman and CEO, Benjamin Lakatos told former employees: “You know that you will always belong to the MET family, it is really great to recall all the shared memories. We also welcome back colleagues: Boomerang Alumni now represent 2% of our workforce.”

Reconnecting with longtime friends, sharing old memories and maintaining strong relationships with departed talents – the MET Alumni event, organised in the House of Music and attended by close to 100 guests, perfectly served these purposes. Reconnecting may also mean business relationships: several MET Alumni have launched specific cooperations with MET Group, in particular in the area of professional services (consulting, coaching etc).

One of the most elevating moments was the concert of four talented young musicians, discovered by the international talent show Virtuosos. MET Group is proud to support Virtuosos, one of the world’s first classical music talent shows, now broadcast in 8 countries each season. As MET Alumni Club Chairman Kori Jellen said in his welcome speech: “Music inspires and reunites us, just like the Alumni Club.”
