Tünde Vendriczki joined the HR team of MET Hungary more than seven years ago. Her responsibilities are wide-ranging, from onboarding and benefits to preparing reports and managing the exit process. One of the peculiarities of her role is the heavy administrative workload – something she believes you can approach with daily precision and enthusiasm only if you truly enjoy this type of work. Despite the increasing number of colleagues over the years, Tünde considers it most important to be able to provide the same helpful attitude and support to all employees.
What was your first thought when you heard your name announced?
I was really surprised, I never expected to hear my name mentioned. All I could say was “Oh my God!” It is such a great honour to receive this award, especially since I don’t feel I have done anything special – I just did my job. To me, this award is not only a recognition of my own work, but of everyone who works in a support function.
What do you think is your greatest professional achievement?
What I value most in my work is that employees willingly turn to me with trust. It’s important to me that they receive quick and accurate answers to their questions, and that I solve their issues as soon as possible. They can only achieve the best results in their own job if they get the support they need in handling matters outside of their main responsibilities.
When I joined MET in 2018, I was responsible for around 160 employees across three companies; this has now grown to around 280 employees across five companies. Over the past seven years I have learned a lot. I have developed both personally and professionally, and I strive every day to do my job a little bit better.
Where do you see MET Group – and yourself – in five years?
MET Group has grown into a strong and diverse company, and I believe this growth and development will continue over the next five years. As for my own work, I am convinced that supporting employees will remain just as important in the years to come, despite the rise of Artificial Intelligence. Digitalization will certainly shape our work processes, but in my view personal support will always have its value. After all, we are human – we prefer to seek and receive help from other people rather than discuss our problems with a mechanical voice on an online platform.
How do you ‘recharge your batteries’ outside of working hours?
For me, true relaxation comes from the peace of my home, the company of my loved ones, and our dear little granddaughter Sára – who joined our family last summer. In my free time I enjoy crocheting, which replaces the everyday office bustle with a world of beauty and quiet creation. I try to keep my work and personal life separate. On my way to and from work, I listen to good music, which helps me transition smoothly from one world to the other.
The performance of talented colleagues has made the dynamic growth of MET Group possible. Outstanding expertise and results are highlighted every year by the Excellence Awards and the Top Performance of the Year Awards. CEOs nominate colleagues based on the following criteria:
