What was your first thought when you heard your name announced as one of the winners of the 2024 MET Excellence Awards?
To be honest, I started to think that it was me after the great introduction of Klaus Reinisch, Head of the European Sales Division. Then when I actually heard my name, I just tried to avoid an embarrassing situation (e.g. stumbling). Needless to say, it was a great satisfaction at the end of what, I hope, is just the beginning of my path at MET.
What do you think is your greatest professional achievement?
I think the main goal I have reached is having introduced a new attitude at MET Italia in optimising the cost of the portfolio. A daily market scenario assessment followed by timely actions in a very volatile environment have been key to weathering the energy crisis. Facing the turmoil of 2022 with already established processes and activities in portfolio management was a distinctive and successful characteristic of MET Italia.
Where do you see MET Group – and yourself – in five years?
In the next 5 years MET will certainly consolidate its role in the European energy panorama as an integrated energy company, being operative in all the main European energy markets and, at the same time, exploiting opportunities all over the world. In this scenario, I would like to continue to be a protagonist, perhaps also in other roles.
How do you ‘recharge your batteries’ outside of working hours?
My spare time is almost completely dedicated to my children. In particular, I follow the two older ones very closely, over the weekends I go with them to their football matches. It is something that relaxes me, I would do it all the time.
