Alexander joined MET in 2023 as Advisor to the Group CEO, moving from London after more than 20 years of working in the banking industry. Before joining MET, he assisted the company and the then MET CEO, Benjamin Lakatos, with the management buyout in 2018, followed by the introduction of Keppel as a new shareholder.
Alexander’s experience has been truly international – living and working in the US, Asia, and Europe, in major cities including New York, Rotterdam, Singapore, Hong Kong, and London. Working with people from many different cultures has taught him to lead with an open mind, to listening first, and to expect the unexpected. Alexander prides himself on bringing people together and creating mutually beneficial opportunities. He works with full commitment, whilst ensuring he never takes himself too seriously.
Interviewing almost 50 of the top managers at MET, Alexander and his team are developing a new five-year strategy with the goal of building on the company’s talent and culture to ensure that MET Group will be a major European energy player – two to three times the current size.
To recharge his batteries, Alexander finds it important to spend time with his family – his wife and four adult children, who keep him entertained after working hours. He also unwinds by watching and playing a range of sports, including electric biking, skiing, and playing once a week in the MET tennis group. His new year resolution is to make some noise and start playing his clarinet again – with the plan to join the “MET band”.
The performance of talented colleagues has made the dynamic growth of MET Group possible. Outstanding expertise and results are highlighted every year by the Excellence Awards and the Top Performance of the Year Awards. CEOs nominate colleagues based on the following criteria:
