Group Chief Information Officer
Stijn Hamstra joined MET Group in July 2026 as Chief Information Officer (CIO), based in Baar (Switzerland), focused on shaping the Group's Tech, Data and AI strategy and direction aimed to provide MET’s customers with a frictionless customer experience in obtaining their energy solutions.
He brings over 15 years of international experience from ING Bank in the Netherlands, including two years in Bucharest, Romania, focused on scaling up the group's newly established Tech Hub.
His background spans technology solutions and delivery focused on competitive pricing and risk management platforms within global Trading (Financial Markets), as well as Retail Banking technology, where he focused on modernization, and improving the customer experience through digital customer journeys.
Stijn Hamstra holds a Master's degree in Financial Engineering & Management from the University of Twente (Netherlands).
